To federate all the sailboats navigating in Polynesia, that they are resident or of passage, the AVP elaborated an ambitious action plan summarized by the formula: "better know andbecome known to be recognized".
To know better, it is necessary to make the information circulate between the members of the association, by the creation of a Bulletin of the Association, an email address and more recently a blog; on the other hand it is necessary to strengthen the cohesion between the members by organizing common activities as days out, meals, potlucks and meetings such as the nautical fleas.
Simultaneously, become known concern the communication for the benefit of the non-members. The AVP so wants to increase its strength by recruiting new members among the resident sailboats and by inciting sailboats in annual migration to become benefactors. It is in this purpose that were realized the bilingual leaflets of reception, and membership which are almost everywhere organized in French Polynesia, including Marquesas Islands.Furthermore, we wish to gain the benevolence of the media and the population: for that purpose the AVP is going to organize a competition of logo, to draft and to publish a Charter (sort of code of manners to the lagoon environment) and lead media actions with the medias and the televisions.
Finally, we want to become known by people of boats outside French Polynesia by sending articles to the French and foreign nautical magazines, by creating an AVP's blog in French and in English, and by presenting us in the sailing and cruising Web sites (sailors' associations, Jimmy Cornell, rallies around the world).
By these actions of internal and external information, we aim to be recognized as a coherent, powerful and inescapable interlocutor:
On one hand with the nautical storekeepers, for whom the AVP wants to become a commercial stake which it will be necessary to privilege by attractive prices and discounts;
On the other hand with the authorities with whom we wish to set up authorities of dialogue for all the problems concerning us: in particular the anchorage of Maeva Beach, the rates of mooring in the Quay of Yachts, the devastating exceedings of speed limit in marinas and in harbour, the extension of the Marina Taina, the regulations of the anchorage to Moorea and to Bora Bora, the extra time of visas for the foreign sailboats, and more.
